Controlled Environment Manufacturing Services

Processing for the manufacturers who care about the quality of their materials, but do not require controlled, certified processing.

All Controlled Room Processing is assessed by our Quality Engineering Team for effectiveness, cost-efficiencies and production scheduling that will best support the customer's product specifications and applications. Every detail of each controlled environment, manufacturing and converting stage is documented, monitored and recorded for traceability.

GAIN A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE

As an outsourced partner, we can help improve an OEM's competitive position and assist in meeting critical project milestones. HOW?

Expertise in specific controlled environment process development technologies, ability to offer additional manufacturing capacity, and extra brainpower (expertise + experience). The extra help and resources of an outside firm can help you beat competitors to market with new products or updates
or provide consistent fulfillment to your distributors
and end-users. Call us to discuss the advantages of using our contract manufacturing, controlled environment and converting services for strategic and cost reasons.

EXPANDED CAPACITY; DRAWING ON DIVERSITY
Contract manufacturing saves the cost and hassle of hiring a large number of new employees who may not be needed after a particular project is complete. For economic reasons, it makes sense to hire technical experts on an as-needed basis instead of hiring additional staff or overwhelming current staff. When partnering with an experienced contract manufacturer, their diverse experiences can spot potential process development opportunities that can improve engineering decisions and streamline production. At CBL, we have experts in prototyping, process development, injection molding, packaging, sterilization, and more...

PATENTED PROCESSES

PATENTED ROTARY HEAT SEALING
Our Rotary Heat Sealing Patent is for thermal sealable plastic meshweb for automatic forming, filling and sealing pouches. Also noted on ThomasNet under "patented heat sealing converting biophile".

PATENTED ADHESIVE MANUFACTURING
While we have expertise in the entire production process, we also specialize in R&D of adhesive products. We hold various patents related to our industry's adhesive needs, including a Machine for Manufacturing Adhesive Dressings.

PATENTED SLIP CUTTING
Our Slip Cutting system is comprised of an anvil roller rotating at a continuous speed and a cylindrical cutting die that rotates at a continuous speed and has a peripheral surface, with one or more knife blades. This system saves our customers money by doing multiple operations on one machine. Read more details about our Slip Cutting System Patent

R&D PROCESS DEVELOPMENT

Research and Development (or R&D) process development (or "process engineering") is the preliminary conceptual phase that addresses practical manufacturing and functionality issues of new products or components. Analysis and refinement involve interference analysis, structural design, mass properties, and adherence to safety and industry standards and federal regulations before products can be considered for manufacturing.

PROOF OF CONCEPT PROTOTYPING

A Proof of Concept (POC) Prototype is generally constructed early in the development cycle to validate technical feasibility. The composite helps to identify performance issues and potential problems and helps determine the extent of customization that is essential to completing the project. While typically NOT production quality, the POC also helps customers examine their product's application from a business solution perspective.

3M CONVERTING PARTNER

As a 3M Converter, we match 3M technologies to customer requirements – researching the exact form, fit and functionality for application success in identifying, bonding, protecting and electrical shielding or conducting. Combined with our quality assurances, our goal is to meet customer product specifications, lead times and lean manufacturing objectives.

VALIDATED TESTING / PEEL TESTING

Validated Testing can be required for the quality control of various processes in our converting laboratories. For example, we have to validate our rotary heat sealing process to prove we are making a good seal and pouch.

Peel Testing measures and records the maximum load, average load and starting force, as well as the average force registered for displacement. See a sample peel testing video below.
